During the ex-professional wrestler’s speech in the ring, a fan crashed the stage appearing to take out the WWE legend from the side. Multiple wrestlers then took to the ring to take out the fan and remove him before police arrived and escorted him out of the arena. Professional wrestler Shane Brandon McMahon appeared to be the first person on his feet to help save the wrestling star.
Hundreds of shocked fans have taken to Twitter to support Mr Hart who was being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
One fan said: “One of the most disgusting things I’ve seen in my life.”
Another said: “My mind is still boggled that a f***ing moron would attack someone who is being inducted into a Hall of Fame, one who is having it rough because he lost his partner and one who just beat cancer.”
Mr Hart was making his induction speech on Saturday night during WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony in which the legend and Jim The Anvil Neidhart were to be inducted.
The fan who was wearing a Rasta hat jumped into the ring and tried to take the old-timer down.
The attack – which was not a publicity stunt or a staged moment – saw security immediately swarm and dog pile the man.
WWE Superstar Drake Maverick announced, “pay no attention to that man, let’s keep this going,” allowing Mr Hart to continue his speech.
