08.30 UPDATE: Solskjaer confident he can keep Pogba
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Paul Pogba will not have his head turned by Real Madrid’s interest and believes he will be a Manchester United player next season.
“There might be a campaign, you never know what there is,” said Solskjaer.
“But in my talks with Paul he’s always been positive. I don’t see a difference in him when I chat to him. He’s focused on performing and he’s a proud player. He always gives his best.
“He has made a difference for us in a few games, but so has Romelu [Lukaku], so has Marcus [Rashford]. There have been different players in different periods that have made the difference. It’s not just about one player. It’s not just about Paul.
“He had his highest ever output physically on Wednesday night against Barcelona , he’d never ran as much in a United shirt. That was brilliant.
“The effort and attitude is there. I thought in the first-half, we speak about Fred and Scott McTominay, but I thought Paul made us play. He settled us down a bit, in the first-half especially. We just fell away towards the end. But the effort he put in was tremendous.”
08.00 UPDATE: Real Madrid want Mane – but there’s a problem
Real Madrid would love to sign Liverpool ace Sadio Mane this summer – but think he would need to hand in a transfer request to make it happen.
Mane has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season and has been linked with a move to Madrid.
But Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to keep his man as he battled for the top honours in the game.
Liverpool reached the Champions League final last season and remain in the competition and are also battling for the Premier League title.
And El Confidencial report that Madrid believe their only chance of signing Mane comes if he hands in a transfer request.
07.30 UPDATE: Manchester United planning summer overhaul
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to sign FIVE players this summer after admitting he will be ruthless in his approach to overhauling his Manchester United squad.
“I’m under no illusions that this is not going to be plain sailing,” said Solskjaer. “It’s going to be hard.
“It’s going to be survival of the fittest or survival of the best. That’s how ruthless we have to be.
“We need players here who are going to be able to take us forward.”
07.00 UPDATE: Arsenal get Ryan Fraser boost
Arsenal have received a boost in their hunt for Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.
The Scottish international is among Unai Emery’s targets for the summer window.
And Fraser is ready to force a move to the Gunners and is prepared to run his contract down if Bournemouth don’t accept a bid this summer.
That could force Eddie Howe’s hand as they consider letting him leave in the next transfer window.
06.30 UDPATE: Eden Hazard makes Zinedine Zidane revelation
Eden Hazard has dropped another hint about joining Real Madrid by claiming he’s happy about Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club.
In an interview with RMC Sport, Hazard said: “I am not a Real Madrid player. But as a supporter of Zidane, I was very happy that he came back because football needs Zidane.
“For Real it is good. For the supporters of Real it is good.’
“But for the other teams, a bit less because Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane win a lot. So it will be difficult.”
