The documentary filmmaker, 32, who was crowned the champion of Strictly Come Dancing last year, appeared to be filming a new programme in the US. Taking to her Instagram story to give her 713,000 followers a glimpse at her new project, Stacey Dooley uploaded a Boomerang which showed her travelling in the back of a car. In the clip, she pulled her jacket to the side to reveal a protective vest underneath, which bore the American flag on the front. She tagged BBC Three, for whom she fronts documentaries, in the upload, along with the caption: “Back at it.”
She also added an American flag emoji.
Another video followed which showed snowy scenery passing by as she continued on her drive.
Today, she shared a picture of a breathtaking mountain view, with peaks blanketed in powdery white snow.
The uploads come after Stacey revealed she was in the US earlier this week, posting another clip from a car journey on her Instagram page.
In the past, the presenter has made a number of hard-hitting documentaries looking at some of the darker aspects of human existence.
Her popular series, Stacey Dooley Investigates, has seen her produce specials including Russia’s War on Women, Mums Selling Their Kids for Sex and Face to Face with ISIS.
Stacey Dooley in the USA, which aired six episodes between 2012 and 2014, looked topics from gay conversion therapy to South Americans risking their lives to cross illegally into the USA.
In contrast to the heavier subject matter of many of her documentaries, Stacey’s new show, Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, is looking for the most talented aspiring make-up artist among 10 hopeful contestants.
When the BBC Three series was announced, she faced criticism, with some fans accusing her of “selling out”.
The Strictly star later hit back on Twitter, telling her 281,000 followers: “You can care about human issues, the planet and also be into fashion.
“You can also take time out to look after yourself mentally.
“For those tellin me you’re suddenly doing ‘trivial’ work… I’ve been filming stories covering rape, incest, drugs, murder and war for a decade,”(sic) she added.
“It’s a privilege to cover these issues, but I also need to take time out to enjoy the lighter side of life.”
Stacey went on to praise the talents of the artists she gets to work alongside on Glow Up.
The TV star cemented her place in the hearts of the nation after signing up for Strictly Come Dancing last year.
Alongside her professional partner Kevin Clifton, 36, she won the series, lifting the coveted Glitterball trophy in December.
