Meghan Markle is a source of “stability and the structure” for Prince Harry who has always been “desperate for a family”, according to royal biographer Andrew Morton. Speaking on Yahoo’s Royal Box about the birth of his son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Mr Morton said: “I was looking at some pictures of Harry when he was about eight years old and he’s cradling a friend’s baby. He was always adoring of children and you can see that today.
“You can see that today. He’s gone from being a little boy who liked kids to being an adult who was desperate for a family.
“It has always been the way that Prince Harry has needed Meghan more than she’s needed Harry because she’s provided the stability and the structure.”
Mr Morton said Harry’s reliability on Meghan is likely to “win over a lot of heart and minds” who are undecided about the Duchess of Sussex.
He added: “They will see how much happiness she has brought into his life.”
Speaking alongside Mr Morton was royal historian Anna Whitelock who claimed the Duchess of Sussex holds a great deal of influence on the Royal Family.
Ms Whitelock also warned the Royal Family must take note of Meghan’s supposed influence over Harry.
The royal expert said: “Meghan holds all the cards.
“I think Meghan now is in a more powerful position than she has ever been.
“She’s married to Harry and clearly dotes on her and adores her.
“She clearly has a great deal of influence over him.
“She’s now the media darling and now she has a baby.”
The royal couple posed with their bundle of joy last week at St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle, the venue of their wedding reception last year.
Prince Harry held the royal baby with a radiant-looking Meghan at his side as they answered the questions of reporters.
Meghan said the baby boy has “been a dream” and said it has been a “special couple of days” for the pair.
During the video, Meghan said she was “still trying to figure that out” who baby Archie looked like.
Harry added: “Everyone says that babies change so much over two weeks we’re basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month really. But his looks are changing every single day, so who knows.”
Harry said parenthood has so far been “great”, adding: “Parenting is amazing. It’s only been two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy.”
