OnePlus is back with a very premium smartphone.
The Chinese smartphone firm has become famous for shaking things up with devices that won’t leave your credit card quaking in its boot.
Now the company is launching something totally new and its rivals should certainly be concerned.
The OnePlus 7 Pro has just been revealed at a keynote in London and it’s got plenty of unique features that could make it a contender for phone of the year.
Perhaps the most impressive is its new 6.67-inch QHD+ AMOLED 90Hz display which means it not only offers stunning image quality but also refreshes at much faster speeds for a seamless viewing experience.
This curved glass screen is also HDR10+ compatible and is now totally notch free which makes the watching content on the phone far more immersive.
OnePlus has created this impressive design by tucking the front-facing camera inside the phone with it popping up the minute you want to grab that selfie.
And don’t panic about this new technology going wrong as the Chinese firm is confident it will last the lifetime of the phone.
The mechanism has been tested over 300,000 times meaning it can be opened and closed 150 times a day, every day, for over five years.
Another new addition to boost photography credentials is a triple rear camera which now offers the ability to shoot with a wide-angle lens and offers better images when the lights get low.
There’s also an upgraded 48-megapixel with the cameras now powered by the new OnePlus UltraShot engine which is designed to give natural colour reproduction, with sharp images in a range of conditions.
Head inside the OnePlus 7 Pro and you’ll find a powerful Qualcomm 855 processor and huge 4,000mAh battery which can now refill in super fast time via something called Warp Charge.
In fact, you can boost the battery by 50 per cent in just 20 minutes using the unique power pack that arrives in the box.
Performance is enhanced even further via RAM Boost which learns from usage habits and intelligently allocates available RAM to memory-intensive applications.
OnePlus says that this greatly shortens loading processes so large apps like games boot up much quicker.
RAM Boost will also allow more applications to stay open in the background without any compromises on overall performance.
If it’s gaming you like using your phone for then the OnePlus 7 Pro continues to offer the Gaming Mode.
However, this has now been taken to a new level with something called Fnatic Mode.
This unique option adds new features to give a competitive advantage, with advanced DND, background restrictions, and network enhancements as the CPU and GPU are optimised to make a gaming beast.
A 10 layer liquid cooling layer allows the OnePlus 7 Pro to remain cool even during the most intense gaming sessions and there’s Dolby Atmos technology and a stereo dual-speaker system so games should sound as good as they look.
One final addition is the inclusion of a Zen Mode which switches the device off for 20 minutes so you can get some peace and quiet
Speaking about the new phone, Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePlus, said: “We constantly challenge ourselves to give people the best experience possible.
“A great user experience means freedom, and should enhance your life instead of distracting you from it. I’m so proud of what we’ve built with the OnePlus 7 series, and can’t wait for people to try out the display.”
