Wiley, who spent 10 seasons playing in the NFL for four teams, is now a co-host on Fox’s Speak For Yourself TV show.
“Absolutely respect it,” Wiley said on SFY.
“Love it actually.
“It identifies that he knows what the word professionalism means.”
Bosa is projected to be one of the top picks in the draft.
In several expert mock drafts he is predicted by many to be taken by the San Francisco 49ers and go as the No 2 overall pick in the draft.
The 21-year-old admitted he deleted messages from Twitter because of the chances of him ending up in the Bay Area.
Bosa has removed several contentious tweets from his account,
In one he called former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a “clown,” after he began kneeling when US national anthem was played, as a means to draw attention to racial injustice across America.
The defensive end had also criticised Beyonce’s music and the Marvel film Black Panther.
He also engaged in politics and once tweeted his support for President Donald Trump, with one message showing a picture of Trump and Ronald Reagan with the caption, ‘Goats’.
He subsequently deleted all of these tweets in a move praised by Wiley.
“Professionalism tells you it’s not just about talent, it is about perseverance, it’s about knowing what to do with your talents to put them in the proper places,” Wiley said.
“When you understand that your job is to get to the quarterback and not to be the free, thoughtful person on Twitter, which is secondary, by a long-shot, compared to your primary goal, you just realised what professionalism means.
“Basically, turn that down or turn that off, because in the scope of things that I truly desire, it doesn’t matter.
“Twitter is not a true measurement of who I am, so why do I want to put something out there that is going to come back and undermine me and my success.
“I love a young man who understands that this is going to keep him on course, versus take him off course, and have some people perceive him differently.”
The 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville, Tennessee begins on Thursday 25th April and ends on Saturday 27th April.
