New car tax changes 2020 are a ‘clear statement’ to boost electric vehicles in the UK

They also warn motorists will soon be forced into switching to electric models completely under new proposals. 

In January the government announced it would stop dealers selling new petrol and diesel models from 2035 in another bid to boost electric cars in the UK. 

Webasto said in a statement: “Whilst those that drive traditionally powered vehicles won’t be in dire straits with these changes, this a clear statement from HMRC to encourage more company car drivers to explore the benefits of owning a hybrid or electric vehicle.

“Arguably, this also falls to fleet managers who should offer at least one EV choice on options list.
