The reasons for excluding Meghan’s father are outlined in an explosive new documentary about the Hollywood Royal. Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe claims in the documentary, Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, that Mr Markle may never be granted the opportunity to meet his grandchild. Mr Larcombe said: “I can’t think for a minute that Thomas Markle will ever be able to meet his grandson or granddaughter.”
The claims come after Mr Markle appeared on Good Morning Britain where he revealed he was still hopeful Meghan will reach out to him and allow him to meet his grandchild.
Lighting director Thomas Markle, 73, has not spoken to Meghan, 37, since missing her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
In the run-up to the wedding it came to light that Mr Markle had secretly collaborated with a British paparazzi photographer to stage a series of pictures which were subsequently sold to newspapers around the world.
After sombre reflection, he deemed his actions a “serious mistake.”
But now it seems Thomas Markle may pay the ultimate price for his actions and never see his grandchild.
Meanwhile, a friend of the former Hollywood lighting director said that Thomas can’t wait for his daughter to give birth.
The friend said: “He is genuinely thrilled that his daughter is expecting her first child later this month.
“He’s been looking around baby stores for an appropriate gift to send.
“He even jokes the new arrival was likely to be showered with expensive baby items from Tiffany with a little ‘Welcome to Tijuana’ t-shirt from him in the middle.”
The documentary also reveals the tension between Meghan and her hand sister Samantha Markle, 54.
Samantha Markle appears in the documentary and claims that her half-sister Meghan has “hurt the family”.
Meghan has maintained a dignified silence amid an array of public outbursts by both Samantha and her father.
