Manchester United are charged with the task of stopping Manchester City from scooping the Premier League title at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.
Pep Guardiola’s side, who have lost just once all season, have been in breathtaking form and three points against United will land them the prize.
Ibrahimovic left the Red Devils last month for MLS outfit LA Galaxy, meaning he will not be with Manchester United as they aim to stop City from getting the party started.
However, despite quitting Old Trafford, the 36-year-old has praised Mourinho and provided an insight into his manager’s mentality.
“I think they are pumped,” he said.
“They are looking forward to a game like that because obviously City are ahead by many points and the rest of the league is not playing for the Premier League trophy.
“They are playing for the Champions League and the places behind City so someone will want to give them a little shake like Liverpool did the other day.
“I know the coach very well. He is very motivated for these kind of games and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want them to become champions against him. He’ll make sure of that.”
Ibrahimovic also revealed the only problem he had with Mourinho at United.
“I like Mourinho. He is the Special One,” he added.
“He likes to win. Wherever he went he won. He made me feel comfortable. He gave me a lot of responsibility.
“He said to me the only problem he had with me was when could he rest me.
“They’ve been doing it good. Let’s hope, there’s one last trophy to play for, and that’s the FA Cup. So hopefully they win it.”
