The former Eternal star, 44, was seen hand-in-hand with a dashing gentleman in London last night, but has clarified the interaction was purely professional. “Just to clear up the reports that are in the paper today,” Louise Redknapp told her 621,000 Instagram followers. “This lovely man is head of security at Soho House and kindly helped me out of the car with my bags and across some roadworks! For this to be portrayed as anything else is complete fabrication and nice gesture has been blown out of proportion.”
The Stretch singer, who finalised her divorce from Jamie Redknapp, 45, in December 2017, went on to say speculation about her relationship with the security guard could be harmful to both his family and hers.
“I would never normally comment on such a story but when it involves someone else and could hurt them, their family and friends as well as my own children I feel I need to do so,” she wrote.
One picture from last night showed Louise clasping the man’s hand, her other arm laden with shopping bags.
They were spotted making their way across the road, which was strewn with signs and traffic cones.
In a second shot, he had his hand on her back as he escorted her through the doorway at Soho House.
Louise is currently thought to be single after splitting from her husband of 19 years, Jamie, over a year ago.
The former couple remain good friends and are co-parenting their two sons, Charley, 14, and Beau, 10.
Earlier this week, Louise revealed how her split from Jamie inspired her “raunchy” new music video for her comeback single, Stretch.
During an interview on BBC Radio 2, presenter Gary Davies, 61, asked her: “Your new video is quite raunchy, isn’t it?”
“Is it quite raunchy?” she said, giggling. “I wanted to do a video which was just strong.”
Explaining how the well-publicised breakdown of her marriage to Jamie impacted her return to music, she continued: “I felt, personally, like my personal life had been so written about for the last two years, it had become almost like watching somebody else’s life unfold.
“I felt this huge expectation about explaining all on the first single and it was just something I felt really passionate about not doing,” she added.
In February, Louise broke her silence on the split for the first time, telling Heart Breakfast it had been “tough”.
“He’s my best friend,” she said of her ex-husband. “It’s been really tough but things happen.
“I saw him yesterday and it was all good,” she continued.
“We had school meetings and stuff, like you do, so all good.”
