Wanted: Silas Wamangituka
Liverpool are interested in signing Paris FC striker Silas Wamangituka.
That’s according to Sports Lens, who claim Jurgen Klopp could rival a number of European clubs for the teenager’s services this summer.
Wamangituka, 19, has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 24 appearances to help the Ligue 2 outfit in their quest for promotion.
Liverpool could have a battle on their hands with Barcelona, Newcastle and Fiorentina also showing interest.
Robert Lewandowski interest
Chelsea are considering a move for Robert Lewandowski, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is also interested.
And the Blues’ transfer ban means Liverpool have an advantage in the battle for Lewandowski’s signature.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea are weighing up moves for Lewandowski and Dortmund prospect Alexander Isak.
But Chelsea’s pursuit of the two stars is all dependant on the outcome of their transfer ban that’s been imposed by FIFA.
Jurgen Klopp would also be interested in reuniting with Lewandowski at Anfield.
Philippe Coutinho vs Man Utd
Philippe Coutinho says he is “even more focused” on beating Manchester United in the Champions League because of his connections with Liverpool.
“I know that games against Manchester United are special. I learned what they meant during my time at Liverpool when we lived it so intensely with the fans,” Coutinho said.
“I have that nailed in my memory and, even though this is a different stage, if Barcelona knock United out of Europe, it will be a double personal satisfaction for me.”
“I know that Liverpool supporters will be with us at United,” Coutinho added. “But they know that later we could see them at Anfield and then, of course, I will be there with Barcelona wanting to win.
“It would be a dream to play at Anfield again, an explosion of different feelings, I’m sure.”
Nabil Fekir medical
Nabil Fekir passed his Liverpool medical and even had pictures taken in a Reds shirt, according to his soon-to-be former agent.
The World Cup winner was poised to join Liverpool before last summer’s tournament but the Premier League title chasers pulled out at the eleventh hour.
While the reasons why Liverpool pulled the plug on the deal were never confirmed, the attacker’s ex-agent has now shed further light on the chaotic ordeal.
Jean-Pierre Bernes is no longer in contact with Fekir after the transfer broke down.
“It is not about staying here,” Bernes told L’Equipe, when questioned whether his former client will stay at Lyon. “And we will know maybe the real circumstances that prevented Fekir’s move to Liverpool.
“The knee was a part of it, but not only that. He had passed a medical, done photos with the Reds shirt…”
Liverpool players mobbed Naby Keita in the dressing room after the club’s 3-1 win over Southampton, according to Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool star Keita scored as the Reds battled their way past Southampton on Friday evening.
“I don’t know exactly why (they didn’t celebrate), it’s for sure nothing to do with Naby!” Klopp said. “They were really happy for him in the dressing room, he had multiple hugs!
“But in the moment they probably didn’t think if it was in or whatever, I didn’t see it back, but that’s probably the reason.
“And the other thing is it was 1-1 and we wanted to win so the boys obviously decided not to celebrate it like crazy because there was still a job to do.”
