Janette Manrara, 35, tied the knot with her beau and Strictly Come Dancing co-star Aljaz Skorjanec, 29, two years ago this summer. The couple first met in 2010 and got engaged in 2015, two years after they joined the professional line-up on Strictly. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, she opened up about her desire to become a mother whilst wanting to balance starting a family with her career as a professional dancer. “I’m gonna be doing Strictly as long as Strictly all have me,” she laughed. “We have the best job in the world.
“I love the establishment and what Strictly represents and that wholesome family entertainment. So, yeah, we want to be a part of that for as long as possible.
“Definitely going to have kids, don’t know when,” Janette, who is currently on the road with Aljaz performing their show, Remembering The Movies, added.
“I think right now our career is doing so well, we’re so excited to be back on Strictly this year, doing this tour right now.
“Dancing as you can imagine is a very physical, very demanding career,” she continued. “So, we’ll see.”
The Strictly star said she and her husband talk about having children often, explaining: “We talk about it all the time. I think we’re going be awesome parents.
“I know Aljaz is definitely gonna be an incredible dad,” she praised.
“I had a good friend say, ‘You can have it all, sometimes it’s just hard to have it all at the same time,’” Janette laughed. “It’s just about finding the right balance, finding the right moment.
“And right now, I think, we’re just loving dancing together so much. We just love it so much and we’re not ready to give that up just yet for that.
“But I am definitely, as a woman, thinking about it all the time,” she told Express.co.uk, giggling: “My mom wants to be a grandma.
“And I definitely want to be a mother, I always wanted to be a mother.
“I am definitely gonna have a little bubba,” she declared.
Janette and Aljaz also spoke out about their brand new tour, which pays tribute to the greatest movie moments of all time.
“One of my favourite pieces that we do in this show is when we play Romeo and Juliet,” she continued. “Because it’s just him and I on the stage with really, really beautiful music.
“As husband and wife, the nicest thing for us to do is to play those two characters who are so in love.”
In agreement, Aljaz also gushed about the “romantic moments” in the show.
“I do love doing all the Bond bits,” he added, chuckling. “That’s very much enjoyable and would be for any guy, to be Bond for nine minutes a day, every day.”
