Over five years ago, in April 2013, Emilia arrived on Twitter, much to the delight of her legions of fans.
“Hey guys! This is my official Twitter account,” she announced. “Thank you for stopping by! xx Emilia.”
Game of Thrones aficionados flocked to the comments section to share their gratitude for her finally signing up to Twitter, with one gushing: “@Emilia_Clarke finally!!! You’re one of my fav actresses love you sooo much!!”(sic)
Another tried their luck, saying: “How many rt to take you to prom Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen?”(sic)
As time wore on, Emilia failed to return to tweet again, prompting fans to remark on her absence in the replies to her first and only message.
“If only you actually used your account,” one lamented, while another said: “And we haven’t seen you since.”
“Did you forget your password?” a third asked, as a fourth joked: “I can’t believe this is your best tweet honestly.”
One Twitter user chipped in: “Only one tweet? You must be the person who opens a Twitter account but doesn’t get the hang of it later.”
“Still waiting for the second tweet,” another said, two years after Emilia first posted the message.
The tweet has been retweeted over 9,000 times and has received a staggering 4,000 replies.
The Game of Thrones favourite’s Twitter bio simply reads: “Actress,” and she has listed Los Angeles as her location.
Emilia only follows nine accounts, which range from YouTube’s official page to Twitter Movies.
She doesn’t follow any of her castmates or even any individuals on Twitter at all.
The stunning star is, however, an active Instagram user, with over 17 million followers.
She also follows 331 people and regularly posts insights into her day-to-day life, including snaps with fellow Game of Thrones stars such as Jason Momoa.
Last month, she shared a hilarious shot of her and her former castmate, who played her husband Khal Drogo, with Emilia being lifted by the hunky actor as he posed on a prop version of the Iron Throne.
As the blonde beauty laid out flat in his arms, he beamed for the camera.
“FYI… This is the closest you’ll ever get to me attempting ‘that lift’ from Dirty Dancing,” she captioned the upload.
“Yes, my man is sitting. Yes, there’s no lake. And yes, I have no idea I’m NOT being raised above his head.
“I’d like to take a moment to thank alcohol for giving me the courage to attempt this,” she added.
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Emilia Clarke asking for comment.
