Britons looking for a budget-savvy holiday option may find that January is the best time to book thanks to an array of sales kick-starting the year. With Celebrity Cruises set to welcome its Celebrity Silhouette this year, taking to the seas from Southampton following an impressive £384 million ($500 million) fleet-wide refurbishment mission, guests could find themselves on board a state-of-the-art ship for a slice of the cost.
Celebrity Cruises point out that “discounts applicable will vary by voyage length.”

Cruisers will be wowed with of-the-moment technology, employing facial recognition technology set to streamline the customer experience.
The luxury liner is also home to a “magic carpet” – a moving deck the size of a tennis court and spanning 13 storeys.
Passengers can grab a drink or enjoy dinner at the deck’s bar and restaurant while taking in the ocean views.
A “snapshot of modern luxury” the Celebrity Apex will be carrying travellers to Bruges and Amsterdam on a short preview trip before departing on its maiden voyage to Spain and Portugal.
The January sale is also applicable to Celebrity Cruises’ new “sail your way” pricing structure, allowing guests to ensure they are paying only for the services that matter to them.
The cruise operator says that the new option will “revolutionise” the way guests book trips, allowing them to “truly personalise” the experience.
The new package was created using guest feedback requesting more flexibility and is hoped to result in the “ultimate” cruising experience.
“We’ve listened to guest feedback and decided to give them the power of choice to curate and personalise their perfect holiday,” explains Jo Rzymowska, Managing Director, UK and Ireland Celebrity Cruises.
When booking their holiday, cruisers will be offered the option to select four onboard benefits to add to their cruise.
Holidaymakers can opt for one of three packages: “Sail All Included”, “Sail Plus” and “Sail”, offering various levels of perks.
One of the package perks includes £230 ($300) worth of onboard credit which can be spent on anything, from drinks packages to unlimited WiFi.
