Crufts 2020 winner: Winner of Best in Show REVEALED – who won Crufts Best in Show? | Nature | News

The World’s Greatest Dog Show has concluded for another year, meaning Crufts 83rd Best in Show has been named. In total 26,000 pooches were expected to take part in the show, and seven dogs were in the running for the Best in Show award.

The reserve went to Miniature Poodle Frankie, making it the second time the pooch had won the accolade.

Best in Show judge Anne McDonald said the two dogs were examples of the best of their breeds and said there was nothing she would change about this year’s competition.

Mrs McDonald had been playing to the crowd before announcing the winner, keeping viewers on their toes as she dramatically paused before declaring Maisie the Best in Show.

In a hilarious moment, as Maisie’s owner led her around the ring, the little dog could hold it in no longer and went to the toilet on the green ring floor.

Maisie’s owner Kim McCalmont could not hold back her joy at the trophy presentation.

Ms McCalmont told presenter Clare Balding Maisie would be allowed to sleep on the bed tonight after her big win.

Crufts is held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, over four days of competition.

Crufts is one of the largest dog events in the world, with thousands of dogs competing for the coveted title of ‘Best in Show’.

During Crufts, canines took to the ring, undertaking agility, obedience and jumping competitions.

Working dogs were also celebrated, with a West Midlands Police Display, Good Citizen Dog Scheme Display and more.

The event is also a good opportunity for dog lovers to meet different breeds in the Discover Dogs area.

Founded in 1891 by the late Charles Cruft, today the four-day show attracts entrants from around the world
