Chris Evans, 53, chatted to comedian and actor Marc Maron on Virgin Radio Breakfast last week.
The host said to the US star: “You’re not an angry interviewer are you? You don’t have anger in your interviews?”
The Glow actor replied: “And, I don’t think I’m an angry comic anymore. Isn’t a guy allowed to be young and p****d off at the world?”
Chris asked: “You said that recently?”
Marc replied: “That I was angry?” before adding: “Are we still on the air?”
“Yeah we are,” Chris responded, whilst laughing.
“I’ve got to apologise for the word you just said by the way,” the Virgin Radio host said.
Marc acknowledged his mistake and explained: “Oh I’m sorry. Mad, I meant mad.”
Chris went on to reveal what he can say instead, to the bewilderment of the US favourite.
The father-of-five said: “You can say ‘peed’ off but you can’t have the ‘issed’.”
Chris went on: “I know it’s crazy. I don’t make the rules, I just try not to break the rules.”
Still a little confused, Marc replied: “That seems to mean something else.”
“Okay, let’s move on,” Chris said in an attempt to move away from the conversation.
The star chatted to listener, Dave, 61, on the show last week, who revealed he was enjoying his first day of retirement.
“Today for the first time Chris I’m never going back to work, I retired,” he told Chris.
Dave revealed he was planning on hitting the gym and sorting his garage out and admitted he was “loving” retirement already.
Chris, who is married to Natasha Shishmanian, 40, replied: “That’s fantastic, come back tomorrow and tell us how your first day of retirement was.”
Hinting his retirement was on the horizon, Chris added: “I’ll need some tips soon.”
Virgin Radio Breakfast Show airs weekdays from 6.30am.
