Brooke Vincent, 26, has made the surprising revelation that she is pregnant with her first child. The actress, who is famous for her role as Sophie Webster in Coronation Street, is expecting a baby with her partner, Sheffield footballer Kean Bryan, 22. Brooke shared her joyful announcement in an interview with OK! Magazine, telling the publication that she is “so excited” to be starting a family with her boyfriend of three years. Although she has always dreamed about becoming a parent, the star admitted that she was anxious about whether a baby would be in her future.
She explained: “I always worried it wouldn’t happen for me – I’m beside myself with happiness.”
Brooke, who has been in a relationship with Kean since 2016, is looking forward to experiencing the journey of pregnancy with her other half.
She gushed: “We’re both each other’s biggest fans and having a baby together will add an extra bond.
“Kean brings out the best in me and it makes me so excited that we’re on this journey together.
“I like to think the I’m the boss of our relationship but Kean has a really wise head on his shoulders, so I know he’ll be a brilliant dad.”
The couple are not married yet, but Brooke has revealed that a wedding could be on the horizon, admitting: “I’d love to get married, Kean and I speak about it, but we are concentrating on the baby for the foreseeable.”
Speaking about her first experience with pregnancy, she told the magazine that she is thrilled to be bonding with her burgeoning bump.
The mother-to-be exclaimed: “I’ve been playing songs to the bump and sometimes I sit and cry about how much I love my baby! I’ve always wanted to be a mum, so I’m really excited.”
The soap favourite is also hoping that her child will follow in her footsteps and possibly pursue a career in acting.
Brooke said: “I’ve said to Kean that I hope our child is a show off, I want it to be a performer like me.”
Although she is already making plans for the baby’s future, the Coronation Street cast member is aiming to keep the gender of her child as a surprise.
She divulged: “We want it to be a surprise, which has amazed all my friends because I’m usually so impatient… I think it’s a boy.”
Brooke’s on-screen sister Helen Flanagan was one of the first to share in her jubilation over the news.
According to the star, Helen, who has two young daughters, Matilda and Delilah, with boyfriend Scott Sinclair is “absolutely beside herself” with glee.
Brooke added: “She’s already planning all the holidays we can go on with the children.”
On being a young mum, the actress shared: “My mum had me when she was 24 and we have a really close relationship so I’m hoping that will happen for me.
“If I’m half the mother my mum is then I’ll be happy.”
