Hart was attacked at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn ahead of Sunday night’s Wrestlemania 35.
Hart was being inducted as part of the Hart Foundation tag team when he was attacked, and carried on with his speech after the assailant was dragged away.
But Wrestling Observer Figure Four Online now report that Hart checked himself into hospital after the event due to discomfort in his hip.
Travis Browne, Ronda Rousey’s husband and former UFC heavyweight, immediately jumped into the ring to tackle the ‘fan’ who was attacking Hart.
Shane McMahon, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd and Curtis Axel all rushed into the ring as well.
The attacker is reportedly 26-year-old Zachary Madsen, with it being claimed that he will be charged with two counts of third degree assault, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of violation of local law.
Hart is a cancer and stroke survivor, and his niece Natalya praised the WWE legend.
“I’m so proud of my uncle Bret Hart tonight during our HOF ceremony,” she said.
“Bret is a cancer survivor, a stroke survivor and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.
“He didn’t deserve to be attacked or have his moment or my dad’s diminished. We got it back on track. Thank you, guys.”
Hart is out of hospital and will attend Wrestlemania 35 on Sunday, having appeared in a photo with both members of The Revival.
