Avicii death: DJ ‘almost passed away of pain’, director behind THAT documentary recalls | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

The Wake Me Up hitmaker featured in a series of poignant snaps shared by documentary maker Levan Tsikurishvili earlier this week, which was captioned with a heartbreaking tribute.

The 34-year-old spoke of the Swedish star’s “genuine” nature and how the industry struggled to understand him, before he took his own life age 28 in Oman last month.

It comes just hours after Avicii’s girlfriend Tereza Kacerova hit back at trolls saying, “I pity you”.

Writing to his 16,000 Instagram followers, Levan started by saying his post felt “unreal” and “like a never-ending nightmare or a terrible joke”.

He commented: “You were, and always will be the most intelligent and loyal person I’ve ever got to know in this superficial industry.

“An industry that was not smart enough for you and that never really understood who you were.”

Levan continued: “I admire and will severely miss your genuine and humble behaviour, which I’ve never seen in any other person.

“Never did I see you judge a person based on the opinion of others, and never did you let others judge someone that wasn’t there in person to defend themselves.”

He then said that the moment a Lemur bit Avicii on the finger during a jungle trek in Madagascar, really reflected his true nature.

“You almost passed away of pain while you were plaster your finger with the leaves,”(sic) he revealed.

“But you still wanted to protect the Lemur and argued with me; ‘Brysh, he is not aggressive, he just thought my finger was a part of the food I gave him, it’s not his fault.’”

Levan also stated: “I’m so thankful for everything we went through together, everything you did for me, everything you taught me by your actions, every single work we did together, all the WEEK-long creative conversations we used to have and fights that always used to end up in something great.”

He said the documentary, which saw Levan follow Avicii for years while on the road, didn’t leave anyone “emotionally untouched”.

Levan signed off: “I will always stay loyal to you and your spirit, nothing has changed in our loyalty, and I will forever carry you deep down in my heart until the day I die and hopefully meet you again in a better place, where you are right now.

“Thank you ‘Brysh’ Tim for everything! I Love you and miss you so much.”

Meanwhile, Tereza spoke out after the reaction she got from some online users, who left cruel comments as she mourns Avicii – real name Tim Bergling.

In a lengthy message, the model spoke about how she had faced scrutiny after publishing the open letter addressed to the late star.

One section, which has since been deleted, read: “This is the most horrible time of my life. I’m drowning in all-encompassing sadness.”

Another upload saw Tereza explain how she “probably won’t ever go a day without thinking about him for the rest of the life”.

She went on to explain that she was “going to look towards the light”.
