London news: Police launch investigation as man and woman found dead in east London | UK | News

The two bodies were discovered in Dagenham this afternoon. The woman in her 30s was found on Whalebone Lane South at 12.50pm today. At 2.50pom, police discovered a man also in his 30s on Gosfield Road. The victim was seen falling to the ground in Market Place near the junction with the famous street shortly after 5.30pm. Photos from the scene show a cordon in place as emergency crews treat the victim. The PSNI said 26 officers sustained injuries in the attack in Distillery Street on Saturday afternoon. The force had attended the site to support contractors who were tasked with removing material destined to be burned in a bonfire.
