How much savings can you have to get Universal Credit?
To get Universal Credit, you need to really be in need of the extra cash.
This means, the Government will expect you to use your savings for a short period of time to get you through until you are stable again.
If you and your partner have £16,000 or more in your savings between you, you won’t be eligible for universal credit.
However, this doesn’t mean you aren’t eligible for other benefits.
