The Wetherspoons pub, the William Rufus in Botchergate, Carlisle, was closed on Friday after the member of staff confirmed she had tested positive for coronavirus. The outbreak led authorities to instruct 24 people who recently visited the pub to self-isolate.
It has been confirmed that a member of staff from the pub did a coronavirus home testing kit and tested positive for the disease.
People that the member of staff were in contact with were traced and ordered to self-isolate.
Now a total of 24 individuals are self-isolating.
The pub was closed on Friday July 31.
“Customer test and trace details have not yet been requested by the authorities but are available when needed.
“Wetherspoon will reopen the pub as and when it can get the number of staff needed to do so safely.”
The latest data suggests that three areas of Cumbria have been identified as having the highest infection rates in England.
In July, Cumbria County Council had asked people who attended pubs in certain areas to get tested because of the increased reproduction rate in the region.
